Pelikan Artline is one of the largest distributors of office products in the Australian and New Zealand markets. Pelikan’s objective for the SharePoint project was a quick migration and deployment into a new managed service environment with a minimal interruption to their day-to-day business operations.
The Challenge
Pelikan Artline had a major problem in respect to technology integration and implementation time that needed to be resolved quickly and efficiently. Protogen was engaged to review the existing SharePoint environment and recommend a strategy for migrating the SharePoint solution to the new managed service environment in a seamless and efficient way. These are the steps Protogen took to understanding and recommending a share point solution.
The Solution
- Protogen created a replicated environment of the existing SharePoint solution for reviewing, testing and documenting the current solution without interfering with the day-to-day business operation at Pelikan Artline.
- Protogen sat down with key staff members at Pelikan Artline, to understand the functionality offered by the current solution and the various aspects of SharePoint that must be retained and can be improved as part of the migration process.
- On the successful completion of this review, Protogen put forward a plan to Pelikan Artline for migrating, deploying and re-engineering the SharePoint solution in a way which complied with the new managed service environment.
