Magnamail, Penny Miller is a catalogue selling company established in 2005 and based in New Zealand the company is renowned as a leader in home shopping and personalised catalogue delivery.
The Challenge
Penny Miller needed to be able to handle complexity around their product versions. Additionally the company needed help with managing their data sharing capabilities and assistance with emailing and infrastructure problems. In 2006 high bandwidth Internet did not exist in NZ, so Protogen needed to implement a lightweight system for fluid functionality. Algorithmic strategy, data compression storage and data sharing were used in the reporting and analytics side. Protogen also supplied single peer-to-peer data warehousing which allowed for centralised management, which allowed for the head office the ability to issue new price lists.
The Solution
Being able to facilitate two-way relationship by allowing for data to be shared back to the sales person from a top down and bottom up perspective. At the core of the business catalogues had to be sent out with continual changes in prices and products which Protogen had to account for with the addition of providing flexibility for foreign currency changes and managing messaging performance. Had to deal with performance issues with data management.
Through the Magnanail/Penny Miller project, Protogen Technologies were given insight into how multi-level marketing can empower the individual by using technology to give people a chance to run their own businesses.
