Global Trading Strategies were an Investment Management company, founded in Australia, by three former Goldman Sachs JBWere traders.
Protogen was invited to design and construct a system that could resolve performance and business issues associated with serving ‘Managed Funds’.
The Challenge
Protogen had the challenge to design and build a complex system integration model, which could engage with a large range of recipients, whilst interacting with different systems in trading and risk management. The biggest challenge was to address the process of moving finances with legal infringements to multiple investors.
The system needed to integrate into GTS’ back office system a process that was challenging across different global time zones.
The Solution
In the technology design phase Protogen unified high performance computing, algorithmic development, machine learning, data analytics and data mining.
The main goal was for the system to provide a fair share spilt to the investors using a smart algorithm, which would also assess how the assets were handled and allocated, whilst processing different stake holders input and requirements.
A robotics framework was the base for the platform. Protogen heavily developed a sophisticated and extremely fast processing algorithm. A complex event-processing engine was also developed to service the high demand for the ‘Managed Funds’ business.
The project was successfully completed end-to-end, in just four months.
